MORE THAN A TOUR

A photography journey through the real Guatemala.

This experience is built around photography — but you don't have to be a photographer to join.

Whether you want to improve your skills with a camera or phone, create extraordinary images or simply experience Guatemala in a more personal way, Arturo will take you to remarkable locations, share his local knowledge and help you get more from your photography along the way.

And while you capture Guatemala, Arturo will capture you — professionally documenting the moments, places and experiences that make your journey unforgettable.

Extraordinary places. Real photographic opportunities.

Photograph colorful colonial streets, local culture, volcanic landscapes, Lake Atitlán, Fuego eruptions and Guatemala's Pacific coast.

BE PHOTOGRAPHED

Come home with photos of yourself, too.

Arturo professionally documents the journey so you don't return home with hundreds of beautiful photographs of Guatemala — and none of yourself experiencing it.

People. Places. Real Moments.

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER. YOUR GUIDE.

Guatemala through the eyes of someone who calls it home.

I'm Arturo Rivera, a photographer from Guatemala.

Photography has taken me around the world, but Guatemala remains the place I know best — its light, its streets, its landscapes, its culture and the people who make it extraordinary.

I created the Guatemala Photography Journey to offer something different from both a traditional photography workshop and a conventional group tour.

It's a chance to experience the Guatemala I love, discover remarkable places with a local and use photography as a way to slow down, look closer and connect with what surrounds you.

Whether photography is your passion or simply part of the adventure, I want you to return home with incredible memories, stronger photographs and a collection of images that tells the story of your journey.

WHO IS THIS JOURNEY FOR?

You don't need to call yourself a photographer.

The Guatemala Photography Journey is designed for people who love travel, authentic experiences and beautiful places. Some guests will arrive with years of photography experience. Others will bring their first camera. Some will use only their phone. That's exactly how it's supposed to be.

THE PHOTOGRAPHER
Go beyond the obvious.

You already understand your camera and want extraordinary locations, local knowledge, the right light and more time to create.

Arturo helps with locations, timing and local access while giving you the freedom to develop your own photographic vision.

Arturo takes a photo in front of a stone and brick wall, wearing a dark floral shirt and beige pants, with a gray shoulder bag across his chest.

THE CREATOR
Learn while you explore.

You love photography but don't need to know what aperture priority means.

Bring your DSLR, mirrorless camera or phone and learn practical photography while experiencing Guatemala — without classrooms or technical lectures.

THE TRAVELER
Experience first.

You're primarily here because you want to discover Guatemala.

Enjoy an extraordinary small-group adventure while Arturo professionally captures photographs of you actually experiencing it. No photography experience required.
